The story follows a little girl whose date of birth is recorded with the same pen that later notes the hour of her mother’s death, thereby unfolding the dialectic of life and death through the pure imagination of innocence, in a deeply philosophical form where the beginning writes the tale of a new being — one that resembles a “flower”.

Brahim Dendane is an Algerian director and screenwriter from the city of Sidi Bel Abbès. He has directed two short films. His film Zahra participated in several festivals and recently won the Grand Prize at the Bardia Film Festival in Cairo.
