About the Film
The events of the film take place during Algeria’s “Black Decade,” when a group of actors were preparing to step onto the stage. While getting ready in the makeup room, just before their performance, they put on masks — not only as part of their roles, but also out of fear of the looming terror and horror surrounding them.

Faysal Kada is a filmmaker and actor from the city of Aïn Defla, Algeria. He previously acted in the short film Kayen Wala Makanch (“There Is or There Isn’t”), which won several awards and was screened at multiple festivals. His short film The Mask also received several awards, including first place in the National Cinema Days Short Film Competition in Tebessa.
