Laila Abbas is a Palestinian director, producer, and academic. In 2013, her documentary Thalj wa Ghubar (Snow and Dust) drew attention as it tells the story of a Palestinian woman crossing the Atlantic in search of a new life in Canada. In 2019, she was selected for the Berlinale Talents program of the Berlin Film Festival to support emerging filmmakers. Thank You for Dreaming With Us is her first feature film.
