Dora Bouchoucha

After teaching English literature at university, Dora Bouchoucha founded the Carthage Film Festival Project Workshop in 1992, an activity she pursued until 2006. In 1994, she created the production company Nomadis Images, through which she produced documentaries, short films, and feature films, many of which won awards at prestigious festivals around the world.
In 1997, she founded the association Sud Écriture, which has been mentoring African and Arab writers in rewriting their screenplays for over 20 years. She served as director of the Carthage Film Festival in 2008, 2010, and 2014, and of the Manarat Festival in 2018 and 2019.
At the same time, from 2010 to 2013 she chaired the Production Support Commissions in France: Fonds Sud Cinéma and Aide aux Cinémas du Monde. She is also educational director for several training programs dedicated to African and Arab screenwriters and producers. Currently, she is Vice-President of the Arab World Institute and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
