After discovering archived reports from the French Army’s Cinematographic Service, the director conducts a three-year investigation into this colonial institution, which intensified its propaganda work during the Algerian War (1946–1962). Through historians, filmmakers, and witnesses, the film exposes France’s hidden strategy of controlling Algerian minds through cinema.

Salim Aggar (born 1968, Algiers) is an Algerian filmmaker, author, and journalist with over twenty years in media. A French Literature graduate, he has directed films since 1989, written several books, and launched the first website for Algerian cinema. He led the Algerian Cinema Center (CAC) and AL24 News, and now heads The Algerian Foundation, producing a film on Emir Abdelkader.
