About the Film
In a small village in Niger, 12-year-old Houlaye walks several kilometers every day to fetch water — abundant during the rainy season, yet absent during the dry one. Her aunt Souri convinces an NGO to build a well, promising a new life for those men and women who, unknowingly, had been walking on water all their lives.

Aïssa Maïga is a French actress and director born in Dakar. She played leading roles in L’Âge d’homme… maintenant ou jamais! (2007), The Lawyer (2010), The Time for the Fair Is Over (2010), Ready for Anything (2013), and He Already Has Your Eyes (2017). She is also an active member of AMREF, an African NGO dedicated to training medical personnel for mother and child care.
