Abbes Zahmani

Algeria

is an Algerian-French actor, born on June 18, 1961. He trained at the Conservatoire de Saint-Maur, ENSATT, and later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique in Paris. He began his stage career in 1983, working with renowned directors such as Jérôme Savary and Alain Françon.

From 1990 onwards, he also directed plays by both classical and contemporary authors, earning several awards. In cinema, he made his debut in 1984 with Claude Zidi’s Les Ripoux and gained recognition with La vie est un long fleuve tranquille. He went on to appear in many films, ranging from comedies with Fabien Onteniente and Alexandre Arcady to acclaimed dramas such as Délice Paloma, Le Soleil assassiné, and La Tête de maman.

A versatile and Arabic-speaking actor, Zahmani has also taken part in Algerian productions, building a diverse career across Algeria and France.
