A Matter of Honor

Oussama Kobbi
Algeria

About the Film
In a working-class Algerian neighborhood, a man in his fifties faces a conflict over “honor”. Torn between the dictates of masculinity and the weight of social expectations, he struggles internally. This is not a film about violence, but about the trembling that comes before it. It delicately explores the suffocated masculine sensitivity in a world where feeling is seen as weakness—an intimate dive into the conflict between the man one is expected to be and the man he truly is.
